How to get some confidence back with having HSV?

Hello.. so ive been having trouble with my confidence ever since i got diagnosed.. Im 23 an attractive female, like to look nice and work out .. i go to school annd work a full time job.. and i just dont want to do the things that i used to enjoy anymore like go out with frriends and have a drink or two  because i feel its pointless now because of my situation .. even when guys try to talk to me i just blow them off because im so scared to even have the talk. Idk what to do to make my self realize that this is not the end of the world.

I just feel that if i tell anyone , why would they chose to stay with  me when they can be with someone that doesnt have it.

I just need some encouraging tips.

I havent told anyone about my situation and im going on a year.

Any feed back from people that have disclosed and how did that go ?

Whatever advice you get I would love to hear .

I haven't had this virus that long , I'm still in the shock stage .. I don't feel like my life will be the same after this .. I'm 20 years old I don't see people/ a person wanting to spend the rest of their life with me .. At all .

Like .., I can't blame people either . I can honestly say if someone would've came out and told me that they have the virus I would've ran as far away as possible .

    I guess that's Karma huh ?

How long have you had it ? And what type ? Have you had any outbreaks since you've been diagnosed?

How are those outbreaks for you ?

How long have you had it for ? Ive had it for one year exactly ... my worst ob was the first one after that i have had atleast 2 or3 other ones that were pretty bad

i sometimes feel an ob coming but just take meds and it stops it .. hasnt been as bad thank god.but still its always on back of my mind. i have good days and bad

they say that with time the obs reduce. its alway worse the first year.

I dk which type i have but i have it in the genitals and you

Do you know how you got it ?

or i just showed up out of no where

this really sucks but i do think it gets better with time

and also its a really common std i see alot of people at my job with cold sores in their mouth

I have mine in the genital area .. The person who infected me never told me they had it ... Never in my life have I ever gone through what I go through with this . It's pure agony .

      I got diagnosed on December 15th, 2015 ...

And I've been depressed ever since

Like you said there are good days and bad days I seriously have no idea how to tell someone I have this .. Literally no one knows about this besides my ex boyfriend ..

I have no desire to date or get to know anyone .. My motivation for that has went straight down .

It taught me a lesson tho I can say ..

I feel I would've learned the same lesson if I would've gotten something curable ..

How do you know when you are getting an incoming outbreak ? People say that you start to itch a lot and I've had that little plain issue but no bumps have appeared yet

You're on suppressive medicine ? What kind ?

And how did you get herpes ?

Im sorry you had to get this horrible virus. How did your e take it when u told him? did he know he had it ? and are u guys still together ?

I havent told anyone about this either.

Youre very new with the diagnosed so your body is still getting used to it .. it will start to feel better maybe in 6 months .. first months are the worst.

I was not on medication but i always have some at home in case i feel one soming.. everyone has different triggers.

I know this is hard but youre still the same person you were before this remeber that.

and its better to have got this than anything else like HIV or Cancer.. there so many worst stuff.

Its hard to get over it but with time it will get better i promise.

Maybe you should try the valcyclovir suppressive, I am already taking it after only having my initial outbreak just so I can lessen my atress levels. Sounds like it may help you if you are in pain and having outbreak after outbreak.

I know exactly what you mean! I'm 21, take good care of myself, just about to graduate college and have an amazing graduate job lined up... And then I got herpes.

I literally thought my life was over. It took me a while to realise that 1. It's only a skin infection and is very common and 2. I'm still the fabulous person I was before, just with the occasional coldsore.

I have genital hsv1 so when I disclosed I just said that I get coldsores. I just don't say where. I take suppressive meds and use protection and have enjoyed the occasional hook up since I was diagnosed. If you take precaution it's actually pretty difficult to pass on.

How long have you had it for ? Im going on  a year and havent disclosed. i know its just a skin condition and its a big deal but its so hard to get over it. specially because i dont have anyone to talk to about it.. I was doing fine then i started feeling down again.

How have the disclosures been when youve had them?
