How to monitor after sinus surgery?

Background: in a CT scan for something unrelated, my MD saw that one of my maxillary sinuses was 100% blocked, the other 100% clear. I had no discomfort or symptoms but went to a specialist and was advised I should have the blocked one cleared by surgery. He pulled out an amazing mass of junk. I awoke from the surgery with no pain or problem at the surgery site, but with the absolute worst sore throat I've ever had. This soon advanced into a severe chest cold and head cold. It has been almost 2 weeks and I am still very sick.
After the surgery I began flushing my sinus frequently using the NeilMed system my doctor recommended, After each use I would just lean my head over and my sinus would just pour out through my nose. Now that I've had this bad cold it suddenly stopped doing that. I'm concerned that my sinus could be blocked again, and since I had no symptoms the first time I have no way to check it. Should I return to the doctor after I'm well and try to get another CT scan?
Sorry for the long read, any help will be greatly appreciated.

You need to buy a sinupulse machine. It does a much better job clearing your sinuses than the Neilmed squeeze bottle. My ENT prescribes powdered medication that a use with the distilled water in the sinupulse machine. I have been sinus-infection free for years because of that machine. I take it everywhere I go when vacationing.
