How to overcome Health Anxiety/ Fear of Death ?!

I’ve developed some pretty serious health anxiety lately. Out of the blue and then it just kept layering in my head. I’ve always had anxiety, but it’s gotten more uncontrollable in the last year- but it’s been worrying me that past few weeks.
Every day I think to myself- what if I have cancer? What if I’m dying? I can’t die!!! I’m not ready. My 2 1/2 year old son needs me! I still have so much life to live.
Honestly, I don’t know why these thoughts are in my head all the sudden, except for the fact that a girl I went to high school with (5 years ago), a year younger than me, died from cancer so abruptly. It made me realize how unexpected life really is and how you can be alive today but dead tomorrow. It’s scary. It’s made me live more anxiously lately. At times, I can get my mind off of it, but then it comes back & it makes me over analyze every feeling in my body. It makes me heart race and has lately, been keeping me from getting a good night rest.
I’ve never dealt with this health anxiety before. On top of that I feel kind of alone and depressed. I have a great family and a wonderful boyfriend and such a sweet son, but it’s like I’m missing something I need in my life. How can someone be so full, but still feel so empty, lost, and confused? That’s where I’m at.
I’m a strong woman. I take care of myself and my body. Health is very important to me, but lately I have felt weak in the mind. All I know is I can’t keep dealing with this s**t. I don’t have time nor the energy. There’s so much else I need to be focusing my attention on.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi,
Sorry you're going through this it sounds really tough. Have you spoken to your family about this at all or perhaps a therapist or councilor? Sometimes talking through your problems can help. I would recommend some relaxation techniques as well like meditation. It might not help straightaway but if you try this every night it can help you in the long term. There's also loads of books out there you can read which have guides to help you through issues like this. I find 'overcoming anxiety by Helen Kennerly' quite helpful. Hope you feel better soon.

I say that you should see a doctor to check your health first. What i have found from several books and many webs that if you're feel scared you let it be. Do nothing. If you feel panic just let it all out, don't try to get rid of it. If you feel scared, let it be. I have suffered many disturbing thoughts about many things too. It's still there of course but i'm not scared of it too much anymore. What make you scared is the feeling scared of having disease not that you actually having disease. I suggest you to read some books about mindfulness or to see a therapist to understand more about your anxiety. It will help you.

I wasted over 30 years with that kind of thinking. Nothing bad ever happened.
I could have been enjoying my life.
Worry is a COMPLETE WASTE OF LIFE !
You can’t get a single day back that you spent worrying.
Get rid of the “WHAT IFS”.
Ask yourself... “ Is my thinking making my life happier or is it making me miserable?”
Yes, your son NEEDS you.
He needs his mother to be a fighter for him by taking care of herself, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Wake up with a GRATEFUL HEART!
Think of everything you are grateful for every single day!
LISTEN to Positive Self Affirmations on you tube. Many to choose from!
If you are consistent, eventually your brain will believe them to be true.
When you get a negative thought, say DELETE and think of something happy.
your son will grow up fast so don’t miss out enjoying his childhood.
Nobody can predict the future.
Enjoy today! One day at a time. 🌸🌸🌸🌸??
