How to stay focused and happy

It sounds like a lot of us with LS have days where we are all down and depressed. Can we make lists of how we cheer ourselves up when we are down? Here's my ideas: I like to watch funny animal videos on YouTube. I also do meditation and yoga. Sometimes I curl up with a good book.Ok, now it's your turn.

I walk, spend time in the garden or go to the beach. Fresh air and nature are my biggest friends. If not nice weather or too uncomfortable I read, knit or quilt. Having a purpose helps me a lot.

I take a nice long walk, do tai chi, play with my great grand babies. These things plus others keep my mind off the dreaded LS!

I go sit in a baking soda or borax bath for as long as the water is pleasant.  Or depending on how I feel, work in my studio and paint, go for a walk, read a nice book.  Just relaxing things.

I volunteer in a long term facility. I do a beading class and I go every week with discomfort - without discomfort. Takes my mind off things

I’m also hooked on reality shows. - housewives etc etc!

I am reading a book about finding happiness at the moment and there is a very strong theme relating to helping others as a way to find true happiness so your volunteering is definitely on the right path.

Hi Debi. The book is called “The two most important days” by Sanjiv Chopra and Gina Vild. I am not far in but it Osborne very interesting so far..

I read a good book, walk my dog, sing with a choir. All of it makes me feel better.

Yoga, swimming, good books, gardening and painting. Have just joined Rock Choir too! you certainly can't think about LS when you're singing!

I like to spend time with my family, cooking, and crafts. I do a bit of research on LS which make me feel more in control of the disease, even though I'm not. Coming to forums like this makes me feel better also, because I know I am not the only one dealing with this disease.

Doesn't it make you wonder why it has to be like this? But that gets us nowhere so let's move on. 😃. I am glad we have something that helps keep our minds off this problem! It does help a lot to treat it, then focus on something else. I love to read, knit, watch a movie, meditate, and listen to very peaceful music. YouTube has many different relaxing meditation videos. That helps me relax. Take care Starlight!

Hi.   I love to take pictures.  I love playing with my cats and spending time with my parents my boyfriend and my friends.  I love to horse back ride.  I love to paint.  Eventually when we have a dog I can’t wait to take her for walks out in the sunshine.
