Hi Carole - what sort of psoriasis have you got and where? For instance guttate and plaque or pustular can often respond differently to varIous potential remedies. The itch I know can be overwhelming, particularly at night.

Hi Carole - one thing I have tried at night, besides the antihistamines, is magnesium pills. Often people with psoriasis are lacking in this mineral. The reason I take this is also because it knocks me out and allows me some much needed sleep as I also have plaque psoriasis which like you causes me to scratch. However the magnesium pills have worked wonders and I can mostly get 5 hours without waking and then I am able to go back to sleep when I have stroked my feet (I really try hard not to scratch too much as it tends to indicate that the plaque is thickening and scratching makes your immune system attack that area and exacerbate it) whereas before I would wake at least 4-6 times a night and getting back to sleep was sometimes impossible.  I take them one hour before bed and also with a drowsy antihistamine pill. The combination of the two together has been  successful!! I researched the brand carefully and this was a top one that had been mentioned at some world conference but if you need to know which one it was you will need to private message me otherwise the moderator of this site will delete my response. Good luck in finding your solution.

    Hi Carole,

it's murder, I know. Do you take antihistamines? They relieve the itch (for me, at least). You can buy at any pharmacy or a more effective one called Doxepine is available on prescription. Also when it's really flared up use Icthapaste bandages (prescription or your dermatology dept). They are wonderful - they contain fish oil, really moisturising - and no, they don't smell of fish😊. I keep them in the fridge and it feels fantastic to put cold, moist bandages on. Very good at removing the psoriasis scales. My very good wishes to you, it's absolutely dreadful, I wanted to scrape my skin off with a knife at times. Do you receive light therapy treatment? Apparently that works for a lot of people, unfortunately it intensified my itch😢. All the best

Carole I use Unguentum M cream which is great for me as it is a barrier cream too. May be worth a try although my arthritis is far more chronic than the psoriasis. Might be worth a try 😊😊
