How to use Thrush / Canesten Cream on tight foreskin?

What is the best way to use this if you have a tight foreskin?

I have a small opening, and can keep clean in the bath, although its not easy.

I now have first suspected thrush, with cold tip and some discharge now and again coming from between foreskin and penis gland.

The consensus is to get a cream like Canesten to apply, but as its tight, its really difficult to squeeze it down to the base of the head/gland.

Is Canesten strong enough to rub in the outside of the head/gland and soak through to kill anything, so applying from a different route?
