How useful do you find asthma annual reviews??

Can anyone tell me how they have found their experience of asthma annual reviews with their doctor or nurse? what do they cover and is it useful to you?

    I personally find them useful. I have to keep a record of daily peak fow reings and any problems I may have had or am having.

    They check the medication you are on is still working well, that if you are on inhalers you are using them properly and that no bad habits have crept in. If there is a new and better medication it may be suggested you try it

    They check peak flow and ask general questions about your health and then more specific ones about how your asthma affects you

    All Drs and nurses vary but hope this is of some help. I see the Asthma nurse for this.

    Hi I see asthma nurse every year she checks how I have managed during the year . What my peak flow is hiw I feel about the inhalers and recommends new stuff if required . Very useful and reassuring

    I've always been a bit sceptical because unless a patient has the annual review the GP doesn't get his/her extra payment for having you on his list. Personally I haven't found them useful but I only have mild, maturity onset asthma. But I do attend if otsy only to make sure my medication is reauthorised foir another 12 months.
