How will I know if I have HPV or HSV?

Hi, I've only recently learnt about STDs such as HPV and HSV. I am not very sexually active. I had a partner 5 years ago who I only fooled around and didn't have vaginal sex. Later, I learnt that he fools around and has sex with many different women. And now I wonder if I could have gotten these viruses from him. I haven't experienced any problems or anything indicating I have herpes but I read that symptoms don't always appear even if you have them.

I'm not living in a country where I can't go and have tests, because having sex outside marriage is forbidden by law. How will I ever know if I have them? Please, give me some advice sad

Do you get regular check ups (papsmear) in your country? If so, that is how you would find out if you have hpv (non warts) the worse kind that can cause cancer. Is there anyway you could order an STD at home test? I think that would be your best bet. Its too damn bad that in 2014 woman are still frowned upon for having pre-marital sex. You would think the bigger concern, would be woman's health and being able to be tested. Good luck!

No, I can't go to the doctor. I don't know about at home STD tests. Do you know where I can get them? Any brands?

I would advise to spend some time in another town or even country where they have a private walk in clinic and get the tests you want. You can only check for Herpes with a blood test. Even when I was in the most remote parts of Asia there were sexual health clinics so I am sure you can find one somewhere. You can not check these things at home by yourself. The only alternative I can see is to find a female doctor in your country who you can confide in. Maybe a friend of a friend ? Good luck

If you haven't had penetrative sex with anyone and your boyfriend didn't have cold sores at the time when he gave oral sex and you don't have any symptoms, you don't have an STD. They're call Sexually transmitted diseases because you get them having sex.

Stop worrying and go enjoy your life. You don't have anything to worry about smile xxx
