Hi ladies, can anyone kind please help me? Despite being assaulted when I was 19 and having doctors notes to prove in black and white an aggravated rape when I was 25 a rape Crisis service have just sent me a letter today to say I can't be seen. Does rape not count in terms of sexual violence considering how sick I feel and frightened every time my husband tries to get physical in bed? What on Earth do I do even my doctor won't help! Am I just unable to be helped now? I don't know where to turn I've just sat and sobbed how much am I to take?

    hi sam,

their is help out there for you it just happens to be frustratingly difficult to find sometimes and get a correct diognosis then correct treatmemnt. i would say you need counseling to deal with those traumatic events in your past. their are many reasons why people don't process these and other types of traumatic events but i think counselling is as far as i know the only way to get over these thoughts and feelings. i don't know how it works but going through how you felt in the past with a counseller helps you to process these emotions and move on. they can also find out why you feel the way you do which also helps. EDMR is another thing that works which i will look in to for myself.

Hi Damian, I agree with you, but clearly I didn't make myself clear enough. It's how I convince the specialists that this what I need. My doctor, a fertility counsellor, a hospital consultant and 4 friends all agree with you but a specialist group don't. I just don't understand!? I thought it was me but think it may be not. It's what I now do. Do I see my doctor or surgery manager?
