Hi, don't understand why doctors want to take ladies off HRT if they are well and are happy on it! I have been on patches for just over a year, feel fine. Doctor was ok letting me have it, just wish I'd known about them sooner. I am 66 and suffered flushes for several years before this.

Pearl I think that's a discussion for you to have with your GP. If he/she said you should stop only for age-related reasons, perhaps talk about your symptoms instead. I think some GPs believe menopausal symptoms stop for everyone by a specific age, but unfortunately there's no hard & fast rule.

Not heard of it but there are loads now. I am on Evorel Conti/50 and been fine. Maybe you just need a change, ie higher or lower dose, don't really know much about them tbh.

Find a different doctor, it's your choice, they can only advise, not dictate I am 69 been on it since I was 38!!!!! I now have low dose and cut them in half , so even lower, if I find it not working I go back to whole for a few days, then it is all ok again, I would buy them if they refused, which is what u can do , but just tell. Them it's your choice not theirs.

If you feel better on it you should go back to your doctor & tell them how bad you now feel & what the nasty symptoms are. Then ask if you can go back on HRT, if they say no then ask to see another doctor!
