Hi ladies i am 53 have been on ellest duet 2mg for 4 years, but the last 3 months my periods have been 26 day ,31days . Having more hot flushes and very emotional, knees ache headache and feeling low.

Rang doctors to see if they can help, had a call back from the pharmacy told him what was wrong and said to take evorel conti patches, but it says for those who have not had a period in a year is this the right one to have

Have put one on hoping it will work.

Hi Paula, if your symptoms start to return on HRT, you probably need a higher dose of estrogen. I think the pharmacist has given you an equivalent dose, so you might need to ask for a 75 patch. I would query whether you should be on a continuous regime though. I've read its OK to swap to continuous once youve been on HRT for over a year but if its too soon to swap to this you'll get breakthrough bleeding. If that happens, just go back to a cyclical regime. Evorel Conti only comes as a 50 patch, so if you want a higher dose of estrogen you'll need a separate progesterone (I take Utrogestan cyclically but get irregular periods on it, which isnt uncommon). See how you go but if your symptoms dont improve, ask for an increase in your patch strength. And if you get breakthrough bleeding, swap back to cyclical regime. Hope this helps!
