HRT and cellulite?

Hello -
I am currently on Estrodial 1 mg with Progesterone taken for 12 days of the month. I have noticed more cellulite but not really sure if it wasn't there all along or just getting worse due to low estrogen levels and thinning skin due to reduced collagen integrity that is a normal part of menopause.
I have only been on this since January of this year.
It is really depressing. I always had some but it seems worse and I am wondering if anyone who has started HRT noticed an increase in cellulite or that it got better over time or stabilized.
Been reading that estrogen tends to stimulate cellulite but if I am low on it due to entering menopause, then why would it increase it so much?
Reading also that progesterone should balance out the estrogen in terms of not making it worse but if I am taking it only 12 days, maybe I should be taking some progesterone cream daily instead. Will ask my doctor, I guess. I have a friend who takes an estrogen patch and uses a progesterone cream instead of a pill. Seems to be working well for her for years. Will ask her as well how often she takes the cream.
Thanks for any input/experiences!

But I’d sure love to hear other women’s experience.

Hello
Hello Catherine
I'd advise consulting with your specialist before making changes as everyone is different. If you have a uterus, I presume that you have, then the progesterone taking orally might be the reason. I used to take Uterogestan for 12 days a month and had 3 days of bleeding. However, I don't take Uterogestan now as I had a hysterectomy.
I've had some cellulite since stopping the progesterone. I'm not sure if it's connected. I've also put on some weight so need to work on that.
All the best Lyn
