    Hallo Jaxfin

HRT in the form of estrogen is very good to use as this nourishes and heals the vaginal/vulval tissues. I have just finished a 3 month course of (vagifem) and found it great. Now this natural hormone will not cure or help your Lichen sclerosus. It only helps regenerate the skin itself. You will have to use a steroid cream to keep the LS at bay. My advice to you would be to deal with the LS first and when this is under control you can think about taking vitamin D3 for your bones. Hope this helps with the confusion. We are all in a state of shock and confusion after being diagnosed with this condition BUT WE CAN INFORM EACH OTHER.

Hi Jaxfin You could try to get glucosamine...That is great for your bones. Healthspan or Holland and Barret stock it.. Tablet form...I too use an ostreogen cream which inject into the vagina overnight twice a week...I was on HRT for 13 years after a total hysterectomy ....You only need HRT for 5 years approx to protect your bone density.......HRT does not affect your LS no more than it would really help it from all the stuff I have read. I have read. x

Hi Jaxfin. What did you have your total for if you dont mind my asking......Mine was for endometriosis......I had bad symptoms after coming off but I dont think going back on is the answer....If you search engine 'natural hormone replacement you may find something there worth reading up on....I spent ages trying to convince my doc that I needed to go back on because of bad hormone reactions , sweating etc., but his answer was that if I was to go back on it then I would only have to go through the symptoms all over again and they do go away in time jaxfin. He was right............take care

Hi sandowngirl, i had my total due to a prolapsed womb and severe bleeding....but it was a horrendus ordeal...and still 4yrs later i have complications, with constant pain in the left groin area, but after investigation they cannot find why, and so it cud be nerve damage, i get pain in my leg and near to private area sad .... about the hrt, i am grateful for any advise i can get i am seeing my gp tomorrow and will ask to be referred to the hrt clinic, and i will look up info on natural alternatives, its just that i dont have the sweats, i burn up inside but no sweat, its awful and causes headaches really bad and all over ill feeling, so bad i jus cant stand it...so i have to have something, do u think after 4 yrs of hrt its ok to stop now? and do u think those horrid side effects wud go away then? i look forward to hearing back from u takecare xx

Oh dear, Poor you . You have been through the mill and im sorry you have other problems as well now...I never had children and get very frustrated that all my adult life the problems that I have had medically have all been about the reproductive parts of me that have done me no favours what so ever. Never fair is it that us women have such horrendous stuff happen...

I can only say what happened to me regarding symptoms...I had horrendous warmth in me also for ages.. I felt intolerant of situations and would feel pained and argumentative for months ...Its a struggle but they do subside. If you are going to the HRT clinic make sure they really know how bad things are....After 4 years I would think that perhaps the vitamin supplements for hormonal benefits plus some glucosamine might be a help for bones but they should know best....!!!!We hope! Take care

Hi Jaxfin....That sounds like a good move by your gp...At least something is being looked into... I dont know very much about external LS on the body and in the mouth but I think there may well be someone who is on the threads that will come on and chat about that side......I do hope your bone density scan goes well and at least calcium requirements are relatively easy to sort out....Take care and keep us posted. Sxx
