Did you ever have spotting after a bowel movement?  I am 56 and perimenopausal.  I get this once in the morning only.  The more websites you read, the more convinced you are that you may have cancer.  I’ve spotted now for 4 months and will see a Gynea shortly.  I am very anxious and scared xx

Not on anything yet except Vagifem.   just spotting daily.  This is only when I go to the toilet.  It’s not coming from my bowel.  It’s when I wipe myself.  The fact it’s happening daily worries me.  The amount of online research I’ve read had buried me almost, it’s all cancer related.  However if I’m told it’s OK, I could easily live with this because it’s not heavy bleeding by any means.  I’ve already had a clear smear and pelvic exam and internal.  So far so good.  I had a period last week after missing 3, but the spotting has been there for 4 months.

Hi cilla that is exactly same as me just small amount daily  but I have had on off for 3 years with say 2 weeks max no bleeding  in the last 6 months so that is why I had all tests that youwill have and I was like you so worried it was cancer but 90% of all cases it is not and daily bleeding is more than likely the vagifam and an imbalance ..I also have the cream it does sound so similar to myself ,a hormone imbalance but us women read to much and think the worst all the time.( understandable ) I  Wish you luck let me know how you get on but please try not to worry easier said than done ..I do think same as myself as I know lots women like you & I .xx

    Thanks for this, really appreciated.

Strangely enough I was prescribed Vagifem to stop the bleeding but I feel it’s made it worse.

It’s reassuring to know that many women have bleeding whereby it’s not cancer related.

I’ve now noticed that it’s worse when I strain myself during BM but it’s not enough to wear a pad that’s for sure.  I pray it’s the perimenopause and at nearly 57 years of age this is well over due xx

Just another thing, if it came to the stage where I need a biopsy, would they numb the area if I asked?

I have a low cervix and have always found smears a painful experience.  Also I’ve had anxiety and tension all my life and take anti depressants long term xx

Sorry to hear that cilla ,  just tell them you are anxious and have those health anxeity s from previous smears , I did have an biopsy without anasetic but I was ok with it just a slight tugging , do you know I read t9 take a pain killer before you go parecetomol then ibuforen so I did and had little pain ,but my sister had one couple weeks back and like you has problem with cervix , they were lovely with her ..progesterone is what helps bleeding . Wrote a list of questions I always do that as going into early menopause at 37 I needed to know all about it and hrt now is Widley  prescribed . Any time message me we will get you through this ..menopause is so new to us lady’s and we all individuals so good we have these forum to ask questions but somet8mes not always a good thing as you read some horror story’s and can make it worse . X
