hi i am progesterone intolerant and under a consultant to try and get the balance . i see him again in a month but i have been on lutigest , patch and testerone , i administer progesterone every 3 months, we are trial error working together and with regular scans to check lining utereus, all ok up till lately . i have been away for 3 months abroad so had lots break through bleeding and a real heavy bleed after 8 weeks , now i am on the progesterone again as it 12 weeks but my question as a solution is .... i was ok on femseven patch which contain levongestral ( try couple years ago but kept unsticking so changed )could i go on these for 2 weeks per calender month and my oestrogen only 2 weeks so not having continuos progesterone but getting more than currently on , dont want to do with suppostries as messy and wont have coil which contains levingestral . thanks

      Hi Joanne

I went into early menopause early on also. I was warned it would happen because I had radiotherapy around my pituitary gland 14 years ago , and its affected how my body reacts. I have alot of issues, but it's taken some time to find the best solution as I was having a period every 2 weeks, plus I was suffering inside emotionally, and the provera has stopped my periods altogether, and the patches help with sweats, although I do suffer a little with sweats but not as much as I used to. i honestly cannot say if it's any good for progesterone, but it is worth asking. wish you good luck

    Hi,

Have you tried Evorel patches or are you not tolerant of the progesterone in them?

I have exactly your problem... I tried Evorel Sequi but the progesterone did not agree with me, tried Femseven but they did not stick, back to Evorel estrogen only patches with added utrogestran caps for the last two weeks of the cycle... but the progesterone in the utrogestran again made me feel so ill, back to Femseven sequi but held on with tegaderm film dressing over the top - all ok but then got bad side effects again after 6 months so now back on Evorel estrogen only patches with added in utrogestran pessaries for the last 10 days of the cycle!

Isn't it a nightmare!!? It's all trial and error... only been on this latest regime for 2 months and ok at the mo but we'll see... I also do not want the mirena coil... 😦

hi that so the same as me i try lots different combination with 5 different progesterone includung urtigetsan made me moody and sleepy the evorel contain norethisterone e cant take that same affects and femseven i could but kept bleeding and wouldnt stick but think they improved so i have heard as was a manufactur problem so my plan is to stqy on my estradot oestrogen only for 2 weeks and then thought use the femseen for 2 weeks as my consultant i been try alsorts combination i have been away for 3 months so see him end month..do you think this will work ? i think i need more progesterone due to spotting and now on the pessaries and not keen on them ...he did mention coil but not keen so i will try this i hope works mentally i feel ok most time just getting balance right isnt it x

Gosh you're like a mirror image of myself!

The utrogestran caps made me feel exactly like you describe! Dreadful... Norethisterone made me feel similar and very emotional...

My GP wouldn't let me juggle evorel estrogen patches for 2 weeks and femseven dual patches for 2 weeks or I'd have tried similar to you using both - defo worth a try?

The femseven issue, I rang the company in November and they told me due to the sticking issues they were pulling them from production but they should be back by the end of this year?

That was the UK, not sure if you're elsewhere?

I wish to God that i could just use the evorel but my body just does not like that type of progesterone. 😦

If you try the femseven again for 2 weeks rach month and still have the sticking issue - try a tegaderm film dressing over the top, I looked at reviews on Amazon and lots of women are using these for this reason!!

Anyway, hope you get sorted soon and the estradot/femseven thing works out, keep me updated!

      Best wishes,

      AJ. xx

      Hey,

If my current regime doesn't suit me I was going to check out crinone too...

I don't actually feel great on HRT truthfully but on it as I went through the menopause too early. I'm 47 now but feel 90!! I'm just hoping it helps my bones but I'm skeptical at the mo...

No-one has ever mentioned testogel etc as it seems it's a no no in my area but yes, me too - I'd be happy to use just estrogen if i didn't have a uterus.

Yes, either reply on here or send me a PM?

Really hope it all works out and you feel like Wonder Woman soon!! 😉
