Hrt patches and LS

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've recently started using hrt patches and was hoping they would improve my LS as I thought mine all started when I was perimenopausal. I've been using them for about 2 months. My LS had been in remission for the last 4 months but just this week it's all started up again with itchynes. I've started using steroid cream again to keep it under control. Has anyone else noticed any effects to their LS symptoms, good or bad whilst on hrt patches? I'd be interested to hear your stories. Our battle continues with this perplexing disease.

Hi deethebee, LS is LS and Hrt patches are unlikely to make a difference in my honest opinion. The truth is that we will all have times when we flare and times when we are in remission, the goal is to try and stay in remission for as long as we can.

Hi deethebee , although some may not agree I felt the Hrt made it worse and during the 6mnths I was on it ( mine was tablets) My LS never stabilised.

Since i have come off things are a lot less problematic and i am getting a lot more good days.

LS is what it is and we do react differently 😬

    Hope you symptoms improove x

Thanks Susan, thats interesting.  My naturopath suggested it might be the hrt that has triggered a flare up which is such a shame because everything else has improved!! I will give it a week and if the symptoms have not improved I may have to reconsider the hrt....blast!

HRT can have bad side effects with long term use, 5 years plus but statistics now show that levels of breast cancer are low if HRT is used over a shorter time period.

I am really sorry but i dont know the answer to that question.  Everyones LS is so individual there is no way of knowing what works for each person.
