I work, but i have to have quite a lot of time off to have surgery and when i get really bad flare ups. My employers know about my HS and so are actually quite flexible with me which im thankful for. Some of my collegues are a bit mean about it though and tell me im skiving or that theres nothing wrong with me. But thats just me, not everyone works in a place full of jackasses =)

hi, i was diagnosed in feb finally after seeing about 9 different doctors. Not enough info regarding hs anywhere and feel i am at my wits end. I have always worked full time but since xmas i had to leave my job after having so much time off due to hs (i didnt get paid anymore than 2 weeks) I am scrimping by on benefits at the moment but have just been advised that i can apply for disability allowance, so will be doing that. Does anyone else receive this benefit for their hs?

    Keep you chin up!

    Hello!

I work for a large UK retailer and Occupational Health have decided that my HS is underlying ill health. This means that when I am unable to come into work the disciplinary procedure does not apply to me. Without this support I would probably have lost my job by now as the absence policy is extremely strict. I feel very lucky.
