About a month ago I was put on two sets if strong antibiotics, i was convinced they were not going to work as ive been put on so many different tablets since finding out i had HS 5 years ago and nothing has ever worked. However since starting them ive had zero flares ups where as i usually have at least 5 on going boils at a time, I just cant believe that the tablets have actually worked this is the first time in years ive had even one day without a boil and im just wondering if anyone else has had success on medication?

I was given Oxytetracycline for spots which were a real problem on my face (acne rosacea) and miraculously these have also cleared my HS. I don't understand why my GP didn't prescribe them to me previously.

That's great news. Hope it stays that way. Curious which antibiotics they were if you don't mind.

Ahh, yes. Standard treatment for HS. Been on and off them 'cause they work and then stop and also 'cause of side effects. In the US it's called rifampin. Good luck!
