    Hello Eddie,

I'm so sorry to hear your have HS as well. It's a terrible disease. The discomfort, embarrassment and not to mention the pain is horrible to live with. I've had it since I was 20 as well and finally had to go to the doctor cause I had a lime sized lump in my armpit. I was diagnosed right then and there with it. After they drained it with a scalpel and a lot of pinching I decided I'd never deal with this again. I thought the doctor was awesome cause she said to look online for natural remedies while she prescribed me antibiotics. Little did I know that she knew the antibiotics wouldn't work and that no doctor knows a cure or remedy.

I dont think the antibiotics have worked cause I keep having flare ups. I can honestly say that tea tree oil has helped considerably. I take a shower every day with Lever 2000 soap because it's antibacterial. After I get out of the shower I make sure I'm completely dry and I take tea trea oil and put a few drops in my armpits and groin area. I don't shave my armpits or groin but use a trimmer. I don't use deodorant except for a natural one I found on Etsy which works amazing well! I'll share the name if you want. I've noticed when I run out of tea tree oil is when I have flare ups. Bad ones too. I keep turmeric powder pills on hand and take them daily before dinner. When I have bad flare ups and don't have time to make it to the store to buy more tea tree oil I make a paste out of turmeric powder with neosporin and a drop of water. I use a bandage and cover the boil with the paste. If you do it during the day it takes a few hours to come to a head and you can drain it. If you can do it overnight (which I recommend) by the time you wake up, it's completly drained. Be sure to bandage it enough to not let it leak otherwise you'll end up with a mess in the morning. Turmeric powder does stain your skin yellow for a couple days but totally worth it if you ask me.

I've read that nightshades contribute to breakouts. I myself love potatoes and hot sauce so I haven't tried to break myself away from this. From what I've read everyone is different when it comes to this disease and what works but from what I've tried turmeric pastes for breakouts work amazing and tea trea oil has been a God send. I'll keep you updated as time goes on because starting tomorrow I'm getting off the antibiotics because I don't think they've done anything for me and being on antibiotics for a lengthy time is bad for your system.

Please keep me updated on how you are doing. I hope I was able to help. Even in the slightest. Just know you aren't alone. A lot of people have this and it sucks. But we'll get through it!

    Xo,

    Nicky

      Hi Eddie,

Stay on the zinc, thats good. Genuinely try to find your triggers. Go on a paleo elimination diet and cut out nightshades completely, once you find your trigger foods then you can avoid them and the zinc will keep you from flaring up if you accidentally get some trigger food in.
