HS is all information wrong?

Hi everyone I was diagnosed with pcos 9 years ago a couple of years after I was told I had HS it took years for them to tell me it was HS. I've been to the doctors a couple of times since being told i have HS and the doctors always say lose weight, try not to keep sweat in infected areas, keep clean and keep covered when your out and about. Well I followed this and I can say it makes it worse keeping it covered is worse cleaning it with antibacterial wash makes it worse , even taking antibiotics is bad because the whole time your taking then its fine but the minute you stop they come back twice as bad. I've done everything the doctor told me I shouldn't do and I'm not gonna lie it hasn't disappeared but its no were near as bad for about 9 months I had nothing, but I used the antibacterial wash 2 days ago and sure enough iv got a lump in my armpit and on the inside if my leg. It is painful but I still choose to go to work even tho it badly hurts, the scars for me are not embarrassing its not being able to shave I don't know if it is just me but I find this a bit depressing more so because the fact I'm a woman. It sucks to have HS aswell as pcos but I still think that not even the doctors know I mean how can they when 99% of then don't have it.

i agree with everythin you said im 28 and my docters was the same he even said its an ingrowing hair lol i said bloody hell it gets about that hair 1 min its in ma leg then in ma arm lol. iv just had surgery on 1 that was in buttock this is the worst pain iv had they have cut it out but i have keep goin gettin it packed which hurts like hell. the only advise i can give is the usual dont wear tight clothes and eat healthy, plenty veg n salad. it has helped me eating healthy but they still come up but there not as inflamed and painful, maybe my body is fightin it off better because of the diet. more research needs to be done about this iv lost all previous jobs because of it and il probably lose the 1 i have now because i cant walk at the moment wiv the pain. i realy feel for you im sorry i dont have any answers but atleast you no your not on your own.

    take care. Andy

I also just had surgery on the 17th of Dec. They cut down the whole one side of my scrotum n my butt. This is one painful experience. I'm 56 been dealing with no answers for years and I really need to try a non sugar type eating habit with good foods. I'm not real confident this will work since mine are so bad but we will see. Best of luck to all who suffer from HS a disease nobody knows about. I just got a call from my HR dept. Yesterday telling me they had to let me go. (Fired) This is not joke and it destroys lives...

such a shame pal sounds so painful that. i hope you get better soon. but just try the eating healthy get salad or veg with everything you eat. also blueberrys are 1 of the best anti inflametrys around, i have them and other fruits with yogurt over the top for breakfast, like i said previously this is not a cure but they tend not to be as painful wen they come up.
