HS Sufferer - would like advice please

Hi everyone. I'm new to the site. I began showing signs of HS when I was 18 when I had a recurring cyst in my groin area. I had surgery to have one removed, but they just kept coming up in other places instead. I am now 35 and have flare ups along my whole groin area, under my breasts, armpits, I have a dormant one on my head and my back is covered (which affects my self-esteem in the summer when it comes to wearing vest tops, because I'm unable to wear vest tops) I also have a pilonidal sinus which is a massive issue for me as my job involves sitting for long periods. Just recently I noticed a small lump within my lady area (sorry for having to be so frank but it's the only way to get advice) It's actually inside the lips and has grown in size over the last couple of days. It is now very painful so I will be going to the doc tomorrow about this but I just wondered if anyone else out there has had them in this area? I always thought the most common areas where under armpits, groin, thighs, which is why I'm so shocked that one has appeared down there. Any help would be hugely appreciated - even if it's just to let me know that someone else out there has the same problem in that area. Thanks.

Yes, I have heard of others getting them in the same area. Have you tried a hot Epson salt bath. The tissue is very sensitive and thin in that area of your body and so a soak may help drain. Are you currently on antibiotics or taking tumeric?

Hi, Thank you so much for getting back to me. I feel I'm not alone in getting them in that area now. I am not currently on antibiotics. My dermatologist put me on a six month course of three differe types of antibiotics so once that course finished a few years ago, I decided to go without antibiotics or the contraceptive pill to see how it affected my flare ups. Before I stopped the pill I was getting flare ups every three weeks. Since I stopped the pill I have found I get less flare ups, but I have had new cysts in new areas, like down below and under my breasts. I am going to try and see the doc tomorrow to get antibiotics for the current cyst as I'm concerned about where it is. Thanks for your advice on an epsom salt bath - I will give that a try tonight.

Have you tried the nighshades diet???? If not please go look it up. Just be weary of cheese and toast bread as they both contain potato starch. From the sound of it your body sounds like its soooo inflammed. I've had the disease a bit longer than you and yes, it fries everywhere but the longer you leave all those active cysts the worse it is. Have tried kenalog injections??? People have tried refampin and clindamiacyn combo. It is showing sooooo much promise out there. H.S. really goes into remission. I think you need to re-evaluaye your current lifestyle, diet, antibiotics, surgery and begin to get your life back. There is a book called The Hidden Plague ...u should try to buy it or get it from the library. Woman in the book put her H.S. in remission. I have removed all nighshades and some fruits. I limit my dairy and even though I get one here or there - the h.s. is much better than it ever was.

Yes, I have! Very painful! It is probably the bartholins glands in your vagina which is different than HS because there is not a hair follicle in the bartholins gland like there is in the sweat gland of an HS cyst. That's a simple explanation of what my doctor told me at least. I used to get these when I wore tampons - they severely irritated it when the gland was inflamed. I now wear a menstrual cup and haven't had that problem since. I suspected while wearing tampons that the cotton had something in it that my body didn't like. I've since read that cotton is one of the most toxic crops soaked with pesticides! So the disposable menstrual cups were so much more comfortable with no irritation!

I am also in remission with my HS after cutting out the foods I'm sensitive to: nightshades, coconut and nuts. Good luck and God bless!

pretty much exactly, but i havent had to be in pain like I used to (just like you over and over and over)..once i swithed to no nightshade foods, quit smoking exactly 7 months ago..i have had one flare due to eating what i shouldnt, but as long as i do this im lump free..no it will never go away but i will manage to live with it now...the ones in our lady bits area are awful arent they, i have had one (now the size of a pea)..right beside my vagina opening..it was big and that thing went away once i started this eating to live better thing ..
