Yes it is common, but chances are she will have pain at times or later in life..I am one of the lucky ones..I don't get pain as much as most

Ok that's interesting it seems so different for everyone. It's strange isn't it some people only seem to get mild problems where as it's very severe for others.

I didn't have pain for many years. Of course, I didn't know what I had at the time.

She has only got a very mild case at the moment but she went for a food and alergie test which showed that she was dairy intolerance also her magnesium levels were very low so since cutting out dairy it has got a lot better.

Mine started as pimples or at times just blisters with nothing but blood. They weren't really painful they just started up as a larger than normal white looking pimple or as a pimple with blood. I'd pop it and be done with it. One day I popped one of those pimples on my under arm and in nerver went away. Then it started and grew within a year and a half.

Do you mind me asking has it got worse for you over the years or does it stay the same ? I no some people have been lucky enough to have had remmision .

Mine are always painful, to varying degrees, but none of them are painless. Wouldn't there also be pain if it was just normal boils or big spots? Sounds a bit odd to me. Do the lumps come to a head, what I mean is, are they just bumps or do they have fluid/pus in them? I thought HS was characterised by very painful pus/fluid filled 'boils' - if there is no pain I would question whether it is HS. Can I ask what the symptoms are, and where they are? Not that I'm an expert, just a curious sufferer!!

Certainly sounds like it then. Odd. Having said that, most of my outbreaks have been in my armpits, shoulders and breast area. I've only had one or two 'downstairs' and these were probably the least painful for me. If they aren't painful though, be thankful! Hope it stays that way for your daughter :-)

Some of mine are really deeps, some come to a head and some don't and no it's not really all that odd..I was diagnosed at John Hopkins are they educated me quite a few things that I didn't know (mine are armpits/breast/downstairs mostly..not sure if I answered everything..if not feel free to ask

Hello, I know you posted this a while ago but I just did a Google search for HS without pain and mine is exactly like your daughters. Mine started when I was around my mid twenties I guess, I never really paid much attention to them because they would just be very tiny lumps under my skin and I would take a few baths and they would go away, not even leaving marks. Then, I had one that took longer to go away so I started messing with it and stuck a needle in it and it went away too, but this time leaving a purplish black mark. Now, at the age of 32, I have two lumps directly across from each other on my inner thighs that have both been there for a year. For the first 9 months they wouldn't drain, which made me finally make an embarrassing trip to the doctor and get diagnosed with HS. But they never really hurt, only when my thighs rubb together a lot maybe they would be a little tender but that's all. Anyway, now Im on two antibiotics but they don't help and a topical cream. One day I was looking at one in the mirror and noticed it had some liquid coming out and was so relieved after 9 months it was finally going to bust and go away but it didn't. I stuck a needle in the one on the other side to make it do the same. Then I took baths everyday and kept draining them and nothing. No improvement at all. They just drain and fill back up. I can squeeze it and blood or pus will come out of multiple spots on the wound. Anyway I can drain it until it's almost flat and still NOTHING! I haven't known what was wrong with me for long so any advice for me would be helpful to make my existing lumps go away. I haven't gotten any new ones so I don't understand what people mean by "flares" the ones I have just don't go away. Thanks for listening
