HSV1 and MS

Posted , 3 users are following.

It's been 2 weeks since my diagnosis of HSV1.  My boyfriend has relapsing/remitting MS and was tested the day after my diagnosis and it came back negative.  His PCP told him to be tested again in 2 months and not to have protected or non protected sex or even kiss me for that time frame.

Needless to say, he is terrified of getting it and I would be devastated if I passed it on to him,

Does anyone have any experience with HSV1 and MS?  Nice guys don't come around very often and I want to do what I can to make this relationship work.

Thanks...

You just have it in your genitals or is this cold sores? The doctor seems a little obnoxious to tell you that you can't even kiss each other. Isn't MS just something to do with a persons muscles? Sorry I'm not well versed with MS. I mean definitely be careful though but I don't see why you all can't kiss. I think the doctor put unnecessary fear in you. I'm guessing if your boyfriends immune system is weak I could understand the thought process but seems a little overboard IMO. You and your boyfriend need to discuss what you want to do about this. Maybe get a second opinion.

It's in my genitals. It was passed to me through oral sex.I've never, ever had a cold sore.

I asked him to consult with his MS dr and not just his pcp. We'll see. I'm at the point that what will be will be. I can't worry about it. I need to start living my life again and not treat this as a death sentence.

Flu like symptoms.....fever, swollen glands. Excruciating pain no matter what i did and urinating was horrible, then the bumps.

      Went to the ER.
