HSV1 Disclosure

Hi i was diagnosed with hsv1 I've only had a cold sore once in my entire life when i was around 8 i am now 23. My question is does everyone who have been diagnosed with hsv1 disclose when majority of the population have it and doesn't think a cold sore is herpes. Why do i feel a big obligation to disclose when alot of people that gets cold sores don't tell because they haven't been diagnosed even though they are still infectious.

    Ive just been diagnosed with hsv 1 too and I have the same questions!

    disclosure should still happen! hsv1 is becoming more prevalent in the genital region!

    both orally and genitally the virus still sheds even though there isnt an active outbreak!

    this is when the virus can be passed!

    thats just my personal opinion anyways!

    i have hsv2! both strains are quite similar! but i know people who have got hsv1 genitally from people with oral herpes with no active cold sores!
