Can't see the pics, but herpes doesn't persist unchanged for six months.

Which type are you positive for? The private messaging feature on this site does not support photos, I'm afraid.

It's possible that one positive is false, but unlikely both, and the one that is positive could well be oral, as the test cannot and does not confirm site of infection. What's going on with your penis could thus be all unrelated. But that is also just speculation. The numeric values would be helpful.

Do the western blot then, but only the one from the University of Washington is any good and it's not cheap or easy to arrange. You need to wait 4 months from exposure, if applicable. Or you can find a clinic/lab that reports IgG index values and retest, like I suggested.

It's possible you only have HSV1 (orally) and that this is causing a low false positive for HSV2. IgG index values would give a better idea, while the western blot should give a true diagnosis.

But it might not be anything, or only HSV1, and even if it is HSV2, it's not as bad as it seems at first. You have a partner, a baby, and no symptoms -- it's not bad! Whatever you think has been bothering you for six months straight also isn't herpes, as herpes doesn't persist like that. You need to step back, think straight and prioritise.

I was 'gifted' gHSV2 by a #!?$@! whom I am happy to forget but never forgive, lol, and I was pretty devastated at first, but like you, I have others dependent on me, so I pulled myself together, got healthy, and now barely think about it. But I continue to help others on here, because there's a lot of false info out there and the tests are confusing to understand, even very misleading in some circumstances. So, I guess I've become an unofficial counsellor of sorts as well! Always happy to help those who want to be helped.
