HSV1 on genitals?

Posted , 5 users are following.

hello. I've been scouring the internet for answers but I couldn't find any pictures that looked like mine due to most pictures featuring lighter skin and certain conditions can look different on different skin colors.

I'm thinking that maybe I have HSV1 on my vagina. My bf was nursing a cold sore before I came to see him. He assured me that it had crusted over and healed up. He has a thick beard so it was really hard to even see it so I took his word. ( I know, I know. I shouldn't have we are long distance and had a limited time together so ofc I was very horny) So he performed oral on me many times with said cold sore.

like 2-3 days after I noticed a small open sore on my labia. It didn't hurt too bad so I figured that it may have been a cut from shaving that got aggravated by sex or maybe a cut made by rough sex.

there is only one ulcerated sore with some blisters around it. It hurts really bad and I have swollen lymph nodes in my groin on the same side.

according to my research hsv1 on the genitals isn't as bad and tends to have less occurrences since this is not its preferred location. Can anyone with genital hsv1 or that is knowledgeable about it confirm this and give more info?

I went to my gynecologist and got a swab and blood test done, but I'm anxious waiting for the results and would like other opinions on what this may be.

thank you in advance!!!

Dependent upon the person, but yes - GHSV-1 tends to be much less harsh that GHSV-2. Those who have it tend to have less severe and less frequent OB's. Some may average once a year, some may never see another OB after the initial. Good luck!

Hey! So I am currently going thru the same thing. My boyfriend had a cold sore that we both stupidly thought was an ingrown hair under his lip because he had recently shaved. About two days after we were last intimate I noticed that I felt really sore down there when I would wipe and then later that night I felt a bump down there. I kind of brushed it off because I thought I was just sore from the sex and also I have very sensitive skin so I thought it was just an ingrown hair. I didn't look with a mirror until the next night annnnnd bam I was taken back. There were about 4-5 bumps that didn't really look suspicious. This was this past sunday. Now its full blown. I already have HSV 1 from when I was a kid and my symptoms aren't really bad. I have all of the sores and blisters but they don't hurt or burn unless pressure is applied. I have swollen lymph nodes in my groin and I have felt very fatigued. I am currently waiting for my test results also but I went ahead and had the antivirals prescribed, I just started today so I'm hoping it can clear things up. As this is my first genital outbreak I can't speak from experience but based on all of the research I have frantically been doing this past week, I can say I am more at ease because from what I have read genital HSV 1 doesn't usually reappear often and in some cases it never shows back up. I was a total wreak this week but I finally have some peace of mind having a little bit of information and now that I am taking the medicine. I hope this helps a little bit. Best of luck and I hope everything works out for you 😃

Thank you so much for responding! It helps to know I'm not the only one going through this!

I did everything you did. I was doing frantic research and feeling really down.

just picked up my antivirals and started taking them today. I feel better knowing it's mostly likely hsv1 . I hope we're in the majority of cases that have little to no flare ups after the first year or so!

thank you! best of luck to you as well!
