HSV1 — please educate me.

Posted , 3 users are following.

I came to find out that my recent partner has HSV1 due to my discovery of a small bump on his penis. Interestingly, the bump itself was not said to be herpes (it was a single bump comprised of skin/no fluid, no redness, no pain, no discharge, etc.). So this blood test confirmation was coincidental/unrelated. We had sex twice prior to this news. In my mild hysteria, Im trying to understand my risk. I've read HSV1 can cause oral sores from oral contact, and genital sores from oral contact. What about genital to genital? What is my true risk? Is it guaranteed?

i see this was a couple months ago but i wanted to let you know, HSV1 genital to genital, as well as genital to oral, is very unlikely. the chance of ocurring female to male makes this miniscule risk even lower. if you have never heard of her, look up terri warren. she has been studying and working with herpes for 30 years and is too in the field. she has a ton of good information on herpes and has a forum where you can pay to ask questions or just read peoples questions they already asked. ive learned so much from there
