So my partner has hsv2 genital . Can you get hsv 2 on the lips if I give him oral sex. I heard hsv2 do not like the mouth.

    HSV2 loves growing on genitals but it can occasionally grow on the lips. Best avoid giving him oral sex if he has an outbreak. You should be safe enough between outbreaks though.

      so if someone isnt experiencing an outbreak and is on an anti viral med, its okay to give/recieve oral?

    slim with hsv2 but not impossible.

    just avoid outbreaks and see if hes happy to take daily antivirals 😃

    He is on daily antiviral so we maybe ok . I also have hsv2 genital

    NO NO NO IVE SEEN ALOT OF CONFLICTING ANSWERS IF I CANT EVEN KISS MY SON CUZ I WILL TRANMIT IT TO HIM AND NEVER HAD A OUTBREAK NEVER ITS STILL CONTAGIOUS

      I think it's if you only have an outbreak on your lips then you can transmit it to somebody else if you kissing on your lips. But I'm also not a doctor although I know many people that have herpes Symplex one and they still kiss their kids but I think they just consciously know that if they have an outbreak to not kiss them near their mouth

      I'm lost with u and digging deeper after i just been diagnosed a few days ago ima a f*****g plague no if and or around it period .

      It's worth getting some perspective. There are millions of people carrying Herpes who are walking around enjoying fulfilling lives and in loving relationships. They just dont have big banners attached to them saying "I have Herpes" so you dont know.
