HSV2 and living with a child

Just found I have HSV2, scared first outbreak happens, i have 3 yr old child, scared to touch the child, share meals, I'm cleaning my hands constantly, afraid to give it to my partner and child.
I'm taking valacyclovir for 3 days now 1000mg no difference, super scared for my child and partner, I don't wanna share drinks with either of them...
Any parents with babies or toddlers, and the kids are teenagers now or young adults?
I'm extremely scared for my partner and child extremely.

Have you had your first outbreak yet or are you waiting for it? Washing your hands and not sharing drinks is a good idea. Keep taking your antivirals. Hsv is weak outside the body, so it can not survive on clothing, towels or even toilet seats.

you really need yo find ways to calm down and de-stress. i gave birth naturally with hsv2 and my child is in perfect health.

i took a suppressant near the end of my pregnancy. it was never an issue with my partner. we knew the risks.

don't stress yourself or feel as though you can't touch anyone. You have it genitally so you can't endanger anyone unless you touch your private area first and then touch them. Only then would I think its necessary to wash your hands. The virus isnt on your fingers and doesnt linger there.. Unless you have it orally, you can share drinks, its not on your mouth so your saliva won't harm anyone

if you have it on your genitals then you cant give it to anyone unless they touch your genitals.

i have HSV 1 on my lips since a young age, and i have 5 children. I have a 17,16,14,10 and a surprise rainbow baby of 20 months!
im still scared to give it to my children, so i do not kiss my children if I notice that my lips are getting chapped, which usually hightens my outbreaks, i wash my hands if i have an outbreak and i dont kiss them during an outbreak.
NONE of my children has it and my partner neither. You will learn to recognise the signs your body gives you.... do not live in fear!
My older kids always ask me: mom do you have a cold sore? before taking a sip of my drink!
it will be ok!
