Htp 5 for Sleep

Posted , 2 users are following.

I bought some over the weekend, just waiting for it to be delivered.

I've heard mixed reviews but at this point I'm willing to try anything.. Has or does anybody use this for sleep and how affective is it?

Some reports say it doesn't actually put you to sleep but prepares your body for sleep and promotes better, longer sleep. It has also been known to help with anxiety and depression, two symptoms that cone along with sleep deprivation.

Any information would be great, thanks.

Lee.

Oh and I also purchased some Melatonin 5mg from America, I don't recall every trying this properly either and was wondering if taking the 2 one hour between each other would be ok?

Never taken it, but I'm guessing you do know HTP 5 can interact badly with a number of antidepressants, even to the point of causing fatal serotonin syndrome?

I did not know that.. But I'm not taking any antidepressants or any form of medication currently so I should be ok, right?

At the end of my tether here, just looking for a possible solution that doesn't involve seeing my GP.

I make a rule of googling all possible interactions and side-effects before taking anything new - whether prescription meds or just simple supplements. And I still got caught out recently when a highly-recommended supplement (ubiquinol - nothing to do with sleep problems) suddenly produced severe side-effects four or five months after I'd started taking it.

By all means shop around for a solution to your problem, but don't forget: "caveat emptor".
