Huge lump after external hemorroidectomy

hi there. i have browsed a few discussions in here which talk about my issue but none that i have found seem to have any follow up posted. i had a hemorroidectomy 2 weeks ago for a large internal and large external hemorroid. my recovory has been just as horrific as most of the other stories in here. after the surgery i observed alot of swelling where both hemorroids had been removed. it was basically just a train wreck. as time passes it seems some of the other swelling is going down but where the external one was removed there is a large painful lumpy bump that is both on the inside and outside of my butt where the roid was. it looks almost as bad as the hemorroid that was removed. i had thought the swelling would be alot better now since the pain has decreased alot. i still have the gross mucus discharge and stitches are still visible kind if hanging in there. i see the surgeon next week and will be sure to ask him. just wondering if anyone has had this issue and the swelling eventually went away after having an external one removed. i assume i will have excess skin but was hoping the swelling might eventually go down so the big lump isnt there. any advice would be greatly appreciated. also...this surgery sucks so bad
