Huge thrombossed internal hemorrhoid

Hi all

I had an examination by a specialist in June who found a small hemorrhoid but said there was nothing to worry about....

Fastforward to now in Feb, 7 days ago i was struggling with BMs. and began with a dragging pain in the anus. Upon examination I could feel a large long lump behind the rectum wall... i assumed it was constipation as i had been taking codeine. Eventually ended up in A&E as i assumed i had a bowel blockage or impactation. After many agonising hours lying like a homeless person over the waiting room chairs I was seen by a doctor that said it wasn't poop and said i would probably need some sort of surgery.

after lots of time on the surgical assessment ward and lots of horrific examinations they told me i have a thrombosed pile the size of a lemon! I lay there sobbing as they discharged me begging them to help me. From what ive seen online mine seems unusual as nothing is protruding... it is virtually blocking my canal and no BM for over 7 days... currently on lactulose, paracetamol and germaloids.

currently cannot work, leave the house or do anything for my children. Because of its size, the pain in my lower back, and pressure down below is unbearable... Has anyone had such a large one before? one that didn't protrude?

i was wondering if Diclofenac suppositories would help? I cant believe they just send you home in such a state...

Any tips or advice would be so well received, am at my wits end!

    My god, that sounds terrible.

I cant believe they just sent you home.

I guess my only advice would be to see a Colorectal Surgeon ASAP.

What country are you in ?

    hi

hope things have gotten a little better

my advice would be to seek the help of a colorectal specialist

i had what he described as huge haemorrhoids litigated last year

go on you tube and search for HALO RAR Surgery

unfortunately i went private for this op but i am happy with the results to date

    would glycerol suppositories work ?

    for you ?

feel free to ask any questions will check back tomorrow

i think HAL RAR is less invasive and has less potential side effects

    good luck
