Human bite - do I need medical attention?

Hi sorry to bother you, I was bitten 2 1/2 weeks ago at work, I went to the hospital to get checked out immediately and was told to go back if the swelling should spread or redness spread. The bruise has more or less gone now, the swelling had gone, but has reared up again the last few days. I'm not sure whether to wait until Tuesday when my GP is open and I'm next off work, or whether to ring out of hours when I finish work, or go back to a&e. Hope someone can shed some light! Happy to send photos if necessary! X

If in doubt go and get it checked at least you will know not worth waiting for infection !😷

It's quite possible that you still have an infection. Get it checked out. If you get a fever or a red line or any of the standard serious infection signs then go to the emergency room.

What was it that bit you?   A bruise sounds like an animal bite...dog ? cat?. Were you given  a tetanus injection?     Definitely go back to A/E. an infection from a bite can spread very quickly.

Sorry, have just reread your headline..human bite.  I hope this has been reported  and recorded at your place of work in case it becomes a spreading infection.

How are you treating?  Ice, heat?  Antibiotics?  Are you soaking it?  Get to the doctor as soon as you can...better to be safe than sorry.  Good luck
