Humira

Had UC since I was 17. I was pretty much in remission for 10 years with an occasional flair up.

Last November (2016) I began with an absolute life altering flair up that will not go away. I’ve been on Humira for 9months and it has done nothing.

Usually the flair ups are higher up in the intestine and go away quick, but this flair up is recital , no pain , but absolute URGENCY to get to a bathroom.

Has anyone had anything similar to this and has anyone had no success with Humira. Thanks

    Hi jon06049

I had no success with humira but it was pretty obvious after the first initial month. Everyone’s condition responds in different ways & I have heard of people who are on humira & are ok. Unfortunately no meds helped me without also being on steroids at the same time.  If the problem is lower down the bowel ie rectal & confirmed by camera investigation then you could try anti inflammatory suppositories. Think you should go back to gp to get meds that will help you.

    Dear Jon,

To date I haven't suffered such an unpleasant flare up as that which you are currently experiencing, but Bustergut's comments make total sense to me and I certainly concur with his suggestions.

I do send you my very best wishes and hope that this distressing situation can be brought under control very speedily indeed.
