Husband had lumbar laminectomy for spinal stenosis

Posted , 4 users are following.

It has been over 4 months now and he was doing pretty good, but now he has electrical type pain that radiates to his hips when he sits and when he tries to have a bowel movement he says it hurts in his tail bone.

He had an MRI a week ago and the results said benign...we have tried to get his doctor to call and discuss this to no avail.  He never knows when these pains will come.....he sometimes goes days without the pain although he is very careful in everything he does, but we just started out for dinner and he could not get into the car because of pain.

Please help

I am on my 6th year of pain, I had a laminectomy, unfortunately my neurosurgeon left "debri" behind. I have since had 2 fusions after that. I have tried everything and tomorrow I will be getting a Selective Nerve Root shot in my sciatica and I am hoping to get some relief. I have also had a total of 8 surgeries in that timeframe.

We have learned during this time to get copies of everything. When I have an MRI I get a disk and also a written report from the Radiologist. If your Dr will not meet with you to discuss the results then go to someone else who will, just take those records with you.

I hope that helps, I would be leary of any Dr who would refuse to meet with you and talk about the results.

Exactly. Fire the doc he works for you and hire a better one with better experience . Takes time sometimes we have to be our own advocates. Doc get away with so darn much!

Is there any way to see a pain doc. Or get tonER.

it always amazing me how docs could possibly ignore their patients. They should be help accountable in some way. No excuse for doc to not have staff member even call you back.

So sorry . I hope with time you can get this sorted out!
