I am writing for two reasons. First, i was in the hospital one month ago but results were negative. since then husband is in hospital and tested positive. Can I be retested?

Also, any hygiene precautions would be greatly appreciated for when he comes home.

Many thanks,

Depends where you are? I am in Australia and you would probably be tested here now depending on your State but most people are with any kind of symptoms. I would sure enquire at least.

If you are in the UK, definitely not as there is a massive shortage of tests. I don't know about anywhere else though.

As for hygiene, wash all his clothes at 60 degrees. Have a bath ready for him and some clean clothes for him to get changed into when he comes home. Leave his shoes by the door, I think the virus can stay alive on hard surfaces for up to 72 hours and soft surfaces for up to 12 hours. Spray things with antibacterial spray or put things under a hot tap depending on what they are, a bit like when you deal with supermarket items. Or you can leave things in the sun for a couple of hours and the ultraviolet light is supposed to kill the virus. That is what I do with deliveries before bringing them in the house. Wash your hands after touching things that have been in the hospital and remember to not touch your eyes nose or mouth until you have washed your hands properly.
