Husband's Total Hip Replacement

Posted , 7 users are following.

Hi everyone, I'm a new member. my 72 year old husband had a THR on 7/2/17. Operation went very well according to the surgeon. The day after the operation he became unwell, no appetite & stomach pains. The Nurse suggested one of the prescribed meds may not agree with him. Two days later he is feeling much better but salts are low and is on restricted water. A blood test has revealed a problem with his white blood cells. No other information forthcoming from the medical staff. The OT is very happy with his progress so it seems the other issues are delaying his discharge from hospital. Just wondered if this was a common following THR surgery.

I'm really pleased he's ok, and now at home. Hope he has a good recovery, and try to get some rest for yourself too, when you can. All the best.
