Hydrocele

worried.

i had a surgical procedure for a very large hydrocele in 13th may.

my concern is that its still very large although at least half the size it was.

is this normal due to swelling as im very worried and don't want to go through it again

    hi, ,i had mine august 29th 2019, it takes a while to go down., my hydrocele hung below my testicle, now months later i have swelling on top my testicle, my doc said , he really didn't want to do more surgery on me, that was in january 2020.. he told me it could take months to go down . i think if mines still this swollen. ill see my doctor again after the Corid 19 is past.. I misread your date. thought it was just this April

    Well if you are talking May of 2019, I would be somewhat concerned. I know my first one did not take and I had to go back this last year. (November) So far, I think they got it all this time. Could be some swelling, depending on you activities too.

    OK, I thought for a moment that lockdown had messed with my mind!

    I had my hyrdrocele down in August last year (2019). The swelling has gone down, but the testicle is still tender, and the positioning pushes the other one into a position where it often aches.

    I can't wear underwear with a central seam, and boxers are completely out.

    I had raised PSA following the problems, but now back to almost normal (had an MRI as well). Specialist suspects I had prosatatitis which may have been the initial trigger.

    He also said that the tenderness and ache may never resolve fully... the joy of getting older....

      thankyou for your reply.although mine is half the size it was i assume thats just the swelling where its been pulled about.

      i was due to go back and see urologists on 1st may but have cancelled due to covid19 and will go back at a later date.

    mine took a solid 4-5 months to go down to a normal size. Don't sweat it. it will go down but could be little by little. It you had any bleeding in the sack that takes awhile to get reabsorbed by the body. hang in there.
