Hydrocele returned, what to do now?

I had a hydrolectomy about 5-6 weeks ago, it was quite large, bout the size of a large orange. After the surgery the fluid returned, now it is even bigger at 6 weeks and in a completely new shape. Much worse after surgery than before. I am very much regretting having the surgery done as now I have an infection on the sperm cord and on antibiotics. I was just wondering what i should do now? It is so large i am basically disabled, it hurts constantly. I guess the surgeon did the inverted sac procedure and I was wondering if getting the sac removed completely would have a better outcome?

I had one done end of February. Swelling returned in a week. Twice the size of original. Just had another surgery last Thursday and a drain put in. My nut feels better but the drain hurts like hell. I hope yours goes better

Update. 2 weeks after 2nd surgery they took the drain out and everything is going great. My nut is almost original size no pain or swelling. I would definitely recommend to anyone that they demand a drain first time. All is good here. Best of luck to everyone

I had the same thing done about 3 weeks ago. I thought the fluid came back and so did the doc but it turned out to be filling with blood. Last Wednesday i felt a horrible pain and could not stand which got worse and by the time i got to the hospital my left testicle was bigger that a grapefruit. Worst pain of my life. Long story short they did another surgery and now put a drain in . If the side you had the surgery is bigger than before and there was no drain i suggest you go back . I really would not wish the pain i was in on anybody . It felt like someone was standing precisely on my left testicle. Its been days since surgery 2 and my left side is the smallest its been in years and liquid is draining well hopefully this does it. All the best man . Its a frustrating process.

Ryan, If I understand you correctly, you had a second surgery to install a drain. You did not have a drain when you went home after the first operation?

Mike, did they put a drain in? I see a lot of posts where a drain was put in after the surgery when things are going south. I had my surgery two days ago and the Surgeon put in a drain. Today seems to be the heaviest amount of discharge.  Hope you heal soon.
