Hydrocelectomy initial swelling, 1-2 weeks out

I was just curious, had my hydrocelectomy about 8 days days ago, I know overall swelling can take months but my sac has been the size of a softball since surgery and hasn't seem to have shrunk at all yet, does that initial swelling at least go down in the first few weeks? My hydrocele was a raquetball size, I'd give anything to just get back to that soon, that was at least manageable, if I'm stuck at current size for months I'm going to need heavy depression meds.
