Hydrodilatation today for an alleged frozen shoulder

Posted , 7 users are following.

so, I had the injection today after 9 months of suffering with a frozen shoulder. Well, the doctor did the deed and when she had finished she said there was plenty of gas around the joint meaning I already had a full range of movement. She 'felt' as she injected the joint, that there was no adhesion? Go figure? Why can't I move my shoulder, furthermore, why have a been in excrutiating pain? Apparently it is all muscular?

I feel I have been passed from pillar to post. I feel negative and angry, frustrated and fed up quite frankly?

Any thoughts?

That's sad Karen. I feel for you. When I had mine there was no anesthetic, even if my joint had been tight. My goodness, imagine....I am so glad that it did not hurt. I cannot imagine that. Try some Bowen therapy. I have had really good results with mine, simply because all the knots and muscles, nerves etc. have given me so much pain. Let us know how you go x

      Hi karen

I'm feeling your pain, I have days when I feel the worst is over , and then bang there's the pain again, I'm currently sitting with a newly purchased heat mat wrapped around my shoulder / forearm. I'm feeling extremely sorry for myself thinking this is never going to come to an end... I have tried many avenues to try and stop/ease this hideous pain but so far nothing as worked ... But it has been widely documented that the stages have to be gone through and cannot (in most cases) be stopped. I'm 5 months in and the thought of still being like this in another 5 months feels me with dread... I do find some comfort from this forum knowing that we are not alone in this , helps . I hope things improve for you soon, and for everyone else suffering . Take care

      Cindy

Hello Cindy. Hope your heat pad works for you. I have gotten great relief from a tiny TENS machine. It has helped enormously with the pain. Please borrow or buy one. I really recommend it.

Karen, after 2 or 3 days you may find the cortisone kicks in and allows you to move it more. That's what happened with me. While my physio said it hasn't freed the joint (like you I came out crying because I had really put all my hopes into the procedure and convinced myself that this was going to be the END) it has allowed me to stretch and manipulate the shouder more. It did however take at least 3 days before I could do anything. Wishing you well x

I didnt have hydrocotisone im all out had quota not allowed anymore as they thin he tendons etc just had local anaesthetic to numb my shoulder so they could inject the water and air into the joint its marginally improved but no where near enough for the nature of my work still painful and movement not great x

Oh karen , 21 months in ,that's what my nightmares are made of. It sounds like you have been through so much already with very little release. I feel for you greatly.

Unfortunately I have no words of wisdom as I am only 5 months in.

      Wishing you well x

OK so bizarre - tonight I was doing my exercises and as you know, we women tend to be in denial... I said to my husband "look I can raise my arm up" to which he asked me to do it infront of the mirror. I watched and sure as eggs are eggs, my whole shoulder goes backwards, frozen, it may move but in fact I am moving my entire shoulder. I am still pleased that I can move it more than I was able to do before, but it is not really free. I have limited pain - nothing like porr Cindy is experiencing, but it is still as solid as..... I can actually see my shoulder moving up and back - bizarre - I AM SO OVER THIS CONDITION!!!!cry
