Hydronephrosis?

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hello,

I had an ultrasound today and my kidneys are normal and they said "no Hydronephrosis was found." Does this mean they rule out cancer in my bladder and kidney's? Any ideas? My Urogyn has me scheduled for a Cystopcpy next week. Shall I go ahead and had it?

Hi. I think they probably mean that you don't have this condition, which to the best of my knowledge, is swollen kidneys caused by urine being retained? To see the bladder they would need to do a cystoscopy. I am having one in two weeks and would do anything to avoid it. Unfortunately it seems to be the only way for them to assess the bladder accurately. You have probably had the cystoscopy by now, did it give any answers?

Hello,I cancelled the cystopcopy after I had an ultracound of kidneys and bladder. All turned out perfectly normal. My appt. was on a Thursday for the cystopcopy and my luck, I was talking to my SIL and she suggested that possibly my pain and burning wasn't inside my body but on the outside..on my skin and it only felt as if it was my bladder etc. Well I found the problem. I was taking Percocet(oxycodone) for neuropathy and I'm totally allergic to the Percocet. It set my body on fire from the inside out. I'm off of the Percocet now and all is well. I feel fine.

    Good luck with your cyscotcopy.

Thats good that you found the solution and didn't have to have the cystoscopy. Lucky you were speaking to your SIL. I am trying for a scan but don't think the results will be back before my scheduled cystoscopy. I will try to delay the scope by a month and give scan results time to come through. I'm glad you are ok. x

Hi again, If I were you, I would postpone the cys. Test. It really is an invasive test and honestly, I was afraid to have it done because I read online that there are risks involved. With my luck, I'd be the one who has tearing in the urinary tract or urethra...or worse. My hubby and I decided IF the untrasound came back perfectly normal, then I would forget the Cyst. If you're taking ANY kind of medicine, I'd read the side effects. Every med has side effects,as you know. This is the 4th med. I've taken( the PErcocet) that I've had a terrible reaction. Tegretol was another one I had been taking for Trigiminal Neuralgia. I fell, and had a Tramatic Brain Injury with brain bleed. I was still taking the Tegretol though while I was suffereing the TBI. After 2 years of being in a wheelchair, I decided to wean off of Tegretol. Guess what? When I was only off of one tablet of Tegretol, I stood up from my wheelchair and took some steps. Now, I'm completely off of Tegretol and I'm walking all around. This is why I say, Medicine, as good as it is sometimes, can be our devils, because they can cause us so much pain anyway.

Please talk to you doctor about your meds or get online and read.

Good luck my dear and hope all is well with you.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you. Some meds also cause blood in urine. And abnormal test results.

So, I'm off of ALL meds. I'm going to go to cannibus..CBD and THC. I'm 72 years old, never smoked a day in my life, lead a nice clean life, raised 4 children and they're all giving me a bad time about MOM being on POT. LOL At least I'll have control over my body from now on. No more meds for me . LOL
