Last year I suffered with numerous uti's and almost lost a kidney due to blockage. If it weren't for an emergency stone episode..it would of been disastrous. I was in hospital for 13 days . I must say that after all that..my labs look fine and other than reoccurring stones..my kidney functions are fine. There is light at the end of that tunnel.

I have not suffered any uti. I just have a ureter stricture. Do you have your blood work before a d after surgery.

Hi
last october i went into hospital with septic shock and it turned out to be a blocked ureter from a 1.7cm stone. I wasnt told anything about my kidney function except i was incredibly unwell and i saw my CT Scan and my kidney was almost double the size it should be.
i had a stent inserted the day i was admitted to hospital and spent a week there. 8 weeks later my kidney had returned to normal and i had the stone and the stent removed and kidneys work fine now.
The 8 weeks with the stent and stone were awful, i had recurrent infections, awful pain and it was miserable but no long term problems.

Amazing. How long were you in pain for before you were fitted with a stent? Did you do any blood test? It took your kidney to recover?
