A transferrin saturation >45% is indicative of haemochromatosis and yours is normal. This may be why you have not heard anything yet (although depends on how long you have been waiting). I have heard that often there is a delay anyway.

Your high ferritin may be caused by other factors, inflammation, infection, liver problems, a lot of alcohol, even a cold will send ferritin upwards.

Talk to your dr about the possibility of any of these while you are waiting.

My high ferritin went high when I had flu, and my experience was that my ferritin went back down after this flu was over. Have you had a CRP test?

"A C-reactive protein (CRP) test is a blood test that measures the amount of a protein called C-reactive protein in your blood. C-reactive protein measures general levels of inflammation in your body. High levels of CRP are caused by infections and many long-term diseases."

This would probably give you some indication of something going on, or is still there after your flu is over.
