Hi Gary, Yep they are all symptoms for the overactive thyroid.....how long have you been on the meds. it can take a little while for them to kick in. I still have symptoms but milder since I've been on the meds.

Hi thanks for reply .... they started me on them soon as they told me 2 and a half weeks ago my tsh 0.01 and  t4 43.5 I had the vestibular ear problems lightheaded  head fog and earfullness plus other stuff before meds ..... can overactive thiord effect your hearing

Sorry going to ask how long have you been on meds and did you have a rough time

Not sure if it can affect the hearing. this is my 2nd time with my thyroid going over. A few years back I was out on meds and withim months felt prefect. I'm back on meds since December now and feel much better than I did but still have tiredness..mat times it take everything just to get up and go. At this stage I have been advised to go for a final option ..... If you don't start to feel a bit better see a specialist. my doctors had me on meds and when I was sent to the endocrinologist he told me I wasn't on the right dose and what I was taking wouldn't have the effect he was looking for

The only thing that might be the problem is diet. Are you following a thyroid diet. I know hyperactive thyroid is miserable, I too have been diagnosed with it a month ago. The agony of waiting until July 31 for an appointment with an Endocrinologist is beyond comprehension. However, I looked up Diets for hyperthyroidism, and it has helped a lot. I don’t know if the ear problems are relative, but the right diet may be the answer. You could also check with a dietitian. Hope you do well.

Hi thanks I will look in to it ... cutting down on salt for a start

Hi Gary, just make sure you have no iodizedsalt. That fires up the thyroid. I have found a salt substitute, and it tastes exactly like salt.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I am suffering GREATLY with dizziness and anxiety and the horrible dizzy spells make the anxiety so much worse! I dread getting out of the bed some days and especially going out in case I have an " episode " while out because I am terrified of passing out in public. I have never actually passed out but came VERY close to it a BUNCH of times. My PCP has never actually told me that the dizzy spells and/or anxiety are directly related to my thyroid issue ( I am not on any thyroid medicine at this time ) but I feel as if they have got to be related. I joined this forum because I NEED to talk to other people who are having the same ( or similar ) issues as I am because I feel as if nobody around me understands !! I also sometimes even get dizzy while laying down . Do you have this problem at all ?

First, Do you have hyperthyroidism,or Hypothyroidism? With Hyperthyroidism I know you need to follow a specific diet. This was not given to me by my family doctor as I am still waiting for 2 more months to see an Endocrinologist. I felt so shaky, short of breath and my bones hurt everywhere in my body. I got to thinking about a diet. I researched the internet and found many sources. It took a little over a week, but I began to feel much better.

i do hope this helps. You may also contact a dietitian, and learn more.

Bestof luck, I know this is miserable. I got an ultrasound today, now to wait again for those results.

i haven’t had dizziness. Many times the ears are involved and that may be where the dizziness

      originates from.

      Have you seen an Endocrinologist?

      Best of luck,

      Arlea
