Hyperventilating

Posted , 5 users are following.

I was diagnosed 13 years ago with anxiety and panic attack. I have taken 100 mg Zoloft over this period of time. A little over a week ago I had my first panic attack in some ten years. All those same floods of emotions returned. Second guessing is a panic attack or is it something else. My heart races and I feel like I have to breathe deep or yawn to get a good breath. So frustrating.

Go to your doctor and see what to do, i think little therapy will ve good for you.

    Hi

Unfortunatley these things can return, have you ever tried CBT to help look at how you can change your thought pattern when a panic attack hits or the lingering anxiety is with you.

Also research how ..and what... you can do to get to the root .

Gomsee your GP and see if they can refer you ... or do a self referal..

I was worried about having therapy in case i got labeled but since i have been , i realised how good it is and it really helps  i am only 3weeks into a six week sess and i can really see and feel the difference

    xx good luck

The other thing is relaxation, this is also very important, it slows your mindcand body down, I found it hard to relax, but if you practice enough it does become automatic,

Try covering your mouth with a paper bag when you Hypoventilate, breath in and out several time into the bag. If you do not have a paper bag try cupping your hands and place them over your mouth and nose breath in and out like above,

This will slow down your Hypoventilation and help you breath naturally once more
