Has anyone investigated or tried this ? I am considering it, as I am extremely overweight & although I know what I should do to lose weight, I have no willpower.

What is extremely overweight? surgery may be an option depending on your weight 40 BMI is the Benchmark.

Lack of willpower is really an excuse. you need to find a diet that will help you lose weight on a constant basis ..I suggest Low Carb diet.. learn to cut the Carbs and what they are..The key to any diet is Planning and Continuity.. Dont bother counting Calories or low Fat diets they are not really the best way. Soup Diets work if you want to lose quickly.. 40\50 Grams of Carb a day and excersise  speedily will help keep your metobolics working.. Portion size same plate is best too.. have two treats at the weekends.. Diet weekdays..

Gastric Band can work if used correctly as a tool. but can tempt you onto foods that are easy to get down like Milk puddings and Ice cream.

i think its just a modern version of hypnotherapy which works for some people and not for other s- not everybody is suitable for such treatment - I was considered not to be a suitable candidate for hypnotherapy - in my opinion using the word 'band' is just latching onto a new form of treatment to lose wgt but people have been having hypnosis for the likes of wgt loss for mayeb 40 yrs or more - i have no idea whether hypnotising somebody into thinking they have a gastric band works or not - the only way you would know would be to try it cos works for one person is not good for another and vice versa.
