Hypochondriac??

Hello,
I have been having tension headaches and dizziness the last couple of weeks which I originally put down to stress and anxiety. My wife just had an ectopic pregnancy on our first and needed emergency surgery so its been a rough time of late. I was having chest pains and headache around this time and went to the ER. All xrays, ultrasound and bloodwork was fine. I was also having groin pain and pain around my genitals and lower back mainly on left side. My family doc gave me a prostate exam and gave me sulfatrim for prostatis which seems to be helping with that. This all started about 3 weeks ago. Since my ER and family doctor visit the headache has remained. Its not debilitating but has been fairly constant tension, dizziness and foggy feeling. I had been hoping it would just go away but it has not. Although Tylenol Ultra for headaches has really helped in the last couple of days. I only just discovered these type. Regular tylenol were not helping before this. Over the last few days I went on google to see what the symptoms might mean and alas I found myself reading about brain tumors. After reading about these symptoms such as morning nausea and weakness and numbness on one side i now feel myself getting all these symptoms. Although I have not had actual vomiting nor have i fallen over. I will be going back to my family doc as the ER did not do a CT scan even though i told them i had a bad headache. They just looked in my eyes and done like a test having my eyes follow a moving pen. I am now just wondering if its all in my head or been caused by anxiety as thinking and reading what it could be makes it worse. I had a similar episode a number of years ago and after various inconclusive tests they said it could be fibromyalgia but i never really bought that. I am a 32 year old male.
Thank you.

Dr Google will see you now, whatever symptoms you tell Dr Google you have he will come up with a plausible disease.
You have two choices, believe him and when you don't die find other symptoms to look up, I will say that if you have been examined and told its nothing life threatening and most probably is anxiety then please believe them or I can promise you one thing it will take over your life and also ruin your quality of life
Your wife really needs your support now as I'm sure she's going to be struggling to cope with this result.
Stop taking so many different meds and get more fresh air and try to take up some form of sports

dont wory you will get better most of disease are current
the fist thing you do to brought your wife nearest hospital b/c her conditions is emergency
the second you need normaly screening for every 6 or 3 m and consult w your family dr
the third thing it is not good for you looking for google to get information b/c you will confuse
most of singns and symptoms for disease are look like
and you can differentiate only medical knowledge so dr he is the one who differentiate the diseases so u tell him all your singns and symptoms and dont forget to share with him information of your wife b/c she is emergency
so control your anxiety
take deep breathing
not be alone
you can go vocational w your family

Hi John,
it's good to listen to your body & be aware of warning signs. however, Google will rarely set your mind at rest - it will usually just feed your anxiety & you need to find ways to calm your mind & body. your wife does need your support at the moment but you also need to look after yourself & practice self-care. Investigate mindfulness - it may help calm your mind (it worked well for me with my negative thinking & depression). i hope you see some improvement in your health soon. Holiday season can be a busy & stressful time of year so if you can anticipate any major triggers that may be unhelpful to your health & wellbeing that would lessen the risk of impact on you. if u are still as unwell by the new year then certainly more investigation may be necessary but please leave any diagnosis to the experts. wishing you all the best!

Thank you all for your comments.
I went back to my doctor today who gave me another re-assessment and said all my tests look ok. He does not suspect anything sinister is going on and thinks it is anxiety related. He said take some time to relax and check back with him after the holidays. My wife is doing ok now too her surgery was 2 weeks ago and she is now recovering well after some initial complications following surgery. Everything just got on top of me I guess. My sister is also very ill and nearly died of sepsis last week as she is waiting for a liver transplant.
Hopefully the new year will bring better luck for all!
