Hi kelly74150, I have Graves' disease and I had several episodes of hyperthyroidism. Your post caught my eyes since I got an implant this summer. The tooth extraction happened 2 years ago.

I am aware that hyperthyroidism can cause bone loss which might make it more challenging to set an implant. Not sure about hypothyroidism.

I would recommend having a consultation with an implantologist rather than a general dentist.

An implantologist will assess your gum health and jaw bones to check if implants are a suitable choice for you. If there is not enough bone you might need bone grafting which adds to the total costs.
