hystercetomy 4 weeks post op

I was so glad to find this forum. Week 3 I felt I was progressing and feeling stronger. But on week four I started to experience stabbing shooting pains. Week 4 felt like it was the day after surgery. I felt like I was going backwards and not forward with the recovery. I thought something was wrong with me. But after reading these post, I realize this a normal process. I had an abdominal hysterectomy on 1-29-2018 with ovaries intact, including scar tissue removal from my C-Section 1992. It was a relief to read others were having the same experience. I was getting pretty worried as I am to return to work in 4 more weeks. Thanks for all your shared experiences. I can't wait to feel back to normal. I'm sure it will take longer than 6 weeks. I'm 50 years old.

Hi Linda,
My name is Billie 'm a 48 yr old female looking at having to have a hysterectomy and I also had C-section 2 infact 1991 & 1995. I'm wondering how you are doing so far? I'm really nervous and have not been able to find a good connection site to vent my concerns and fears and talk to other women about this sort of thing. Well hope you are well and this reaches you soon and would love to hear back from you take care.
Thanks
Billie

Hi
I am 4 weeks post op for open surgery total hysterectomy and removal of both ovaries, previous c-section in 2010 and I am 34. I have to be honest and speak as I find, I struggled with heavy and painful periods since I was 15,i had pain over Christmas and saw GP and scans showed 2 large cysts (1 on each hand ovary) however before I had my appointment with the consultant I was rushed into hospital in agony. I did have time to Google though.....
I was in hospital a week and operated on during this time and as a priority as scans showed that they could not save either ovary, so the surgeon suggested to remove womb also to prevent further surgery. I had my surgery on 5th February and since the morphine pump was taken off the day following surgery, I have not taken any pain relief. I have been out and about, and feeling amazing.
I suppose what I am trying to say is yes, try and get some support from these forums but everyone is different and their bodies too. If surgery is what you need to make you better, you decide and if you go with it, I'm sure you will feel the benefits.
